A hotel in a parking lot
When Hurricane Katrina hit, Dan loaded three semis with most of his shop, drove them south, and built a hotel in a parking lot to get a partner back on its feet. He stayed two years to see it through.
All American Industry bids as prime contractor on federal set-aside and sole-source opportunities: SDVOSB, SAM-registered, CAGE code on file. We hold the purchase order, take title, invoice the government, and pay our vendors on every award.
That is not a policy we adopted for a capability statement. It is how our founder, Dan Chapman, has run every business he has touched for the last forty years.
Dan signed into the Army at seventeen and a half, the earliest the law allowed, and served four years Airborne, jump-qualified, including a deployment tour through Central America that ended with lunch with the sitting Vice President.
When his enlistment was up, he did not go looking for a job. He wanted a pickup truck, a welder, and a company that was his to stand behind.
He built one. CMW Welding grew out of Chicago into a fifty-person structural welding contractor that spent two decades on hotels, schools, and the jobs nobody else wanted.
When Hurricane Katrina hit, Dan loaded three semis with most of his shop, drove them south, and built a hotel in a parking lot to get a partner back on its feet. He stayed two years to see it through.
A six-year contract to rebuild one of the oldest ballparks in the country, built in 1903, replacing structural steel piece by piece until the stadium held again.
That is the standard a purchase order gets held to at AAI: show up, take the job that is actually hard, and do not leave until it is done right.
Dan has since built and relocated a manufacturing operation to North Las Vegas, moving not just equipment but the majority of the workforce with it, and personally arranging housing for the families who made the move. It is the same instinct behind AAI's vendor bench today: verify people once, stand behind them, and do not let anyone on the team go it alone.
He has stayed involved past the shop floor, including a run for Las Vegas public office built on a simple argument: cut the red tape that slows small businesses down, and bring trade-school pipelines back into the city so the next generation of welders, electricians, and pipefitters has somewhere to start.
Different arena, same instinct. The fastest way to get something built is to get out of the way of the people who know how to build it.
At All American Industry, supporting veterans is more than a mission β it is part of who we are. Founded and led by retired and disabled military leaders, we understand the sacrifices made by service members and their families. That is why we are committed to creating opportunities, building partnerships, and giving back to the veteran community through mentorship, advocacy, and support initiatives.
We proudly work to empower veterans by promoting career development, business opportunities, leadership growth, and access to valuable resources. Our goal is to help veterans successfully transition from military service to thriving careers and entrepreneurship.
Through community outreach, strategic partnerships, and ongoing support programs, All American Industry remains dedicated to honoring those who served while helping create a stronger future for the next generation of veterans and military families.
"Service Above Self" is not just a phrase β it is the foundation of our commitment to those who have defended our nation.
When All American Industry bids as prime, you are not getting a pass-through. You are getting a company built by someone who has run the welding rig himself, met payroll for twenty years, and rebuilt what a disaster took out.
We now apply the same standard to federal set-aside and sole-source contracting: vetted vendors, compliance checked on every opportunity, and one name on the purchase order who answers for the outcome.
Federal buyers β VA and DoD first β looking for pre-qualified vendors, compliant procurement, and faster sourcing.
US manufacturers, distributors, and service providers looking to enter the government market and grow deal flow, without carrying the compliance burden themselves.
We prioritize SDVOSBs and veteran entrepreneurs entering federal sales β the same lane AAI was built in.
